Our school held our Blue Spruce 2018 Celebration and voted for Shark Lady in 1st place. We are thrilled to announce Shark Lady won Blue Spruce 2018! Honour books were Great and The Boy Who Lived Down the Drain.
The Red Maple 2018 winner was The Winnowing!

Blue Spruce for Grades 1 to 3 has started with Shane Peacock’s The Artist and Me.
Red Maple for Grades 7 and 8 students who have joined the Red Maple Team started just before Christmas and the students are now meeting with Staff Passport Advisors to discuss their books. Our Red Maple, Silver Birch, Silver Birch Express and Blue Spruce readers are well into their Forest of Reading Programs now. The official Voting date is April 23, 2014.
Our Red Maple Team will be travelling to Toronto’s Harbourfront for the Red Maple 2014 Celebration this year. They will have a chance to meet all TEN of their authors and also register in their workshops on May 14th. An exciting time for our team. Festival of Treees Link
The Silver Birch and Silver Birch Express teams will be celebrating at the Essa Library with our favourite public librarian, Ms. Holly Elliott. We will be doing some fun activities and have chances to win some great prizes too!
Fantastic news for our Blue Spruce Readers (all Grades 1 to 3)! The Essa Library will be showcasing the original illustrations from many of our Blue Spruce 2014 books! Many of our classes will be travelling to the Essa Library to see them in person. More information to follow!
