Blue Spruce 2021 Voting Starts Soon

Thank you to all of our face to face and Learn@Home students and teachers for participating in the 2021 Blue Spruce Program!  The 10 nominated books have certainly been our most diverse and inclusive ever –  so enjoyable.  I personally learned so much more about Syria, Grandmother School, the best way to deal with an insecurity about something you may have done (The Truth About the Wind), along with how much diversity can be found in one apartment building (Going Up)!  Students and staff will be voting from April 23 to May 7th this year. Can’t wait to find out which Blue Spruce nominated book will be our school and and all of Ontario’s favourite!  Check out this year’s nominees in the short video below:

Please go to AMES Scholastic VIRTUAL Book Fair to order books for your holiday shopping.  Books are delivered directly to your home within 24-48 hours. FREE Shipping when ordering every Wednesday night (Nov.18th, Nov.25, Dec. 2nd) between 6-8 p.m. FREE Shipping for orders over $35.00. Under $35.00, the shipping fee to your home is only $6.00!   A large percentage of our school sales goes directly to bringing more library books into our collection which benefits ALL students and staff at Angus Morrison E.S.  This book fair is open to ALL of our Learn@Home classrooms whose teachers are based here, too!  THANK YOU in advance for supporting literacy at AMES!

Hello to our Angus Morrison Families!  Sending my thoughts and best wishes from my family to yours!  I hope you are all staying well and taking good care of yourselves. We are very excited to launch our distance learning programs on April 6th and I look forward to connecting with you through  our Daily Announcements and Google Classrooms.  Blue Spruce 2020 will continue for our Primary students and we will have a chance to vote online by June 1st. Thank you for supporting our Book Fair

The latest book fair is now over and we thank you for all of your support.  Your purchases help provide new books and funds to support our literacy initiatives at Angus Morrison.  Students dressed up like characters from Frozen and Arctic expeditions!  Kaylee and Mrs. Hart’s Grade 2’s won the Family Event Book Draw, Dresden won the Snowball Guess and other students won free books for dressing up!

Next book fair – Education Week!  It promises to be another fun one. Thank you to our wonderful school community and student volunteers.

Welcome back to all of our Angus Morrison Dragons, students and staff.  We look forward to welcoming all of our new students, new staff and First Years to Kindergarten- such an exciting time!  Our Library/Learning Commons will be providing lots of opportunities for literacy, coding, robotics, STEAM Challenges and coming soon…..our new Technology and Design program!
